We’ve got a few important items to share with you in this letter: seasonal updates, our NEW Client Portal with tons of features that you’ll love, safety updates, and some summer tips for your home!

The New HandiMaids Client Portal is coming soon!
We are very excited to announce that after months of searching and testing systems, we have found our new software “Maid Central”. This secure platform will be used to manage our service and scheduling operations. It streamlines our processes and gives us tools to manage our operations more efficiently so we can provide you with a better service experience!
Watch your email this month for an invitation to set up your login!
Here’s what to expect:
1. Email notifications and survey scorecards will come from a different email address (handimaids@maidcentral.com). You can respond to this email if needed and it will go straight to our main email. Be sure to add this address to your email contacts to avoid messages going to your spam folder.
2. Text notifications – We’ve added 7 new reminder options including “on the way” notifications, plus the ability to receive multiple reminders by email, text, and even to multiple email addresses and phone numbers. You can also opt-in for automated voice reminders too! Text Messages from HandiMaids will come from 804-390-8592. You can respond directly to this number or even call this number directly to be transferred to our main number.
3. Watch your email for an invitation in the upcoming weeks, to create an account in the secure client portal. You’ll have instant access to view your schedule, invoices, make service requests, schedule changes, select your service reminder preferences, update payment information, and more!
4. Credit Card Tips: You can now add a tip for your Cleaning Technician on your Survey Scorecard after each service or if you prefer, you can set up a recurring tip. We are waiving the service fee for credit card tips for your convenience!
Not big on self-service options – no problem! Shelly, Michelle, & Tatiana are still available to help you by phone Monday – Friday, 8a-4pm at 804-330-0270 or by emailing us at office@handimaidsinc.com
Building the best team, in the hardest labor market – EVER! |
Our focus for 2021, continues to be Human Resources. Just one of the main benefits of hiring a professional cleaning service is that we do all the HR work for you. We spend hours every week searching, interviewing, screening, and training — all just to find MORE than just a warm body to provide your service – we are on the hunt to find exceptional people that LOVE cleaning and LOVE to help others – and boy, is it a tall task!
In the wake of Covid, recruiting has come with some added challenges. There are many areas of the country experiencing labor shortages. Just last week, a well-known restaurant in Chesterfield County closed its dining room due to short staffing. National retailers and other chains are steadily increasing their pay rate, offering extravagant sign-on bonuses, and doing whatever it takes to staff their storefronts. There seems to be more of a demand for products and services, and fewer people willing to provide them.
The bar is continually being raised, here at HandiMaids, we are blessed to already have a super-dedicated core staff. We work hard to create a positive team environment and provide a competitive compensation package, one that will keep and attract “the best” talent. In addition to competitive pay, we offer full benefits, paid time off, college debt tuition assistance and many other perks that you won’t normally find with a local service company. This month, all of our Team Members received a pay adjustment and what we like to call a “Stay-on Bonus“, as a small way to say “thank you” for their loyalty, hard work, and dedication to our company & clients.
We believe that if we want to FIND the best Cleaning Technicians to care for your home – and if we want them to STAY, then they need to feel appreciated and given the opportunity to be secure in a career with the ability to make a good living and have a meaningful purpose while doing it!
It’s a Hot one!
️
During the summer months, the weather can be hot and humid, which can lead to heat-related illnesses. Please think of your Cleaning Technician as the days get hotter this summer and keep the inside temperature in your home at or below 75 degrees on your cleaning day. This will help us keep your Technicians safe and healthy and allow them to perform your service with excellence. In the event you forget to turn on the AC or lower the temperature to a comfortable setting before you leave your home, we will contact you to ask you for permission to adjust your thermostat in your absence (we’ll return it to the original setting when your service is complete). If you would like to make alternate arrangements for keeping your home temperature comfortable on service days, please LET US KNOW
Painting or renovating your home? Please let us know.
Cleaning around remodeling contractors can make it difficult for us to do our best for you. It can sometimes be a health hazard too. Just send us a note or give Shelly a call at the office and we can help you coordinate your cleanings with your other home projects so you can get 100% out of all of your home service providers!
Updated Covid Safety & Service Enhancements:
As state mandated restrictions are lifted and we are all eager to back to normal. Here’s how we are moving forward with our safety policy as it relates to COVID19 & infectious diseases.
We will continue to provide additional PPE, additional sanitizing of high-touch surfaces in your home, sanitizing of equipment and modified operations practices to enable compliance with current CDC guidance.
All HandiMaids employees will continue to undergo in-depth Safety training including Covid19 precautions.
We ask that all clients observe the following – whether vaccinated or not:
If you are sick, or may have been exposed to someone who has tested positive to COVID 19, we ask that you reschedule your visit. (Our employees undergo a similar screening every day).
Face Masks will be worn by your Technician BY REQUEST only. If you would like for your Technician to wear a mask when entering your home and interacting with you or your family, simple call or email the office to make that request and we are happy to accommodate you. If you request that your Technician(s) wear a mask, please note that because of the potential health hazard for some individuals, our Techs are permitted to remove their mask if they feel short of breath or overheated while they are performing your cleaning service.
Stay 6ft Apart or in separate rooms: We ask that you keep a distance of 6 feet between yourself and our cleaning staff when they are in your home. As a precaution, we will continue to maintain social distancing when possible and we ask that to the greatest extent possible you stay in a separate room or part of the house from our staff while they are working.
Here are a few ideas for what to do to get ready for the summer season:
️Get out the BBQ Grill and cushions for the patio furniture!
️Put a rack by the front door organizing tennis shoes and flip flops to organize outdoor summer footwear.
️Go through the linen closet for picnic table clothes, beach towels and lightweight blankets. Replace any worn items and add some bright colors to the mix.
️Select the year’s best art work from children, grandchildren/nieces and nephews to frame or display a few on your refrigerator. Box any that you want to keep and let the rest go.
️Make a list of special dates and parties you would like to have. Mark these on your calendar to make it easy to get invitations out by phone, email or mail.
